Cookie Policy
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) while you browse our site. It allows our server to recognise your device and to store certain information about your browsing, in order to make your experience work or to measure our audience.
Non-essential cookies are only set after you have given your consent. Refusing them is as simple as accepting them, and you may change your mind at any time.
2. Cookies we use
Essential cookies (always active)
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
bv_cookie_consent_v1 | Stores your consent choice, so we do not ask again on every visit | 12 months |
| Firebase authentication storage | Keeps you signed in between visits. Stored by the authentication library in your browser rather than as a cookie strictly speaking | Until you sign out |
firebase-installations | Technical identifier of the browser installation, used by the platform's services | Persistent |
Analytics cookies (consent required)
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
ph_* (PostHog) | Pseudonymised audience measurement, journey analytics, and masked session recording — input fields and AI prompts are masked and are not recorded; recording is primarily triggered when an error occurs | 12 months |
Payment cookies (set only at checkout)
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Fraud prevention — Stripe | 1 year / 30 minutes |
3. Managing your preferences
You can withdraw your consent for non-essential cookies at any time through the consent banner (icon at the bottom left of the page) or by clearing the cookies in your browser. Withdrawing consent stops any further collection; it does not erase data already collected, which you may separately request to have deleted at [email protected].
All major browsers also let you configure cookie handling:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies
- Firefox: Preferences > Privacy and security > Cookies
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Cookies
- Edge: Settings > Privacy > Cookies
Blocking essential cookies prevents certain features from working (user account, payments).
4. Third-party cookies
The site relies on technical providers which may set their own cookies, subject to their own policies:
- PostHog (analytics, EU Cloud — data hosted in the European Union; processor PostHog Inc., US-incorporated) — posthog.com/privacy
- Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. (payments) — stripe.com/cookies-policy
- Google LLC / Firebase (authentication, hosting) — policies.google.com
- Cloudflare, Inc. (content delivery and security filtering) — cloudflare.com/cookie-policy
5. Retention period
In line with the recommendations of the French data protection authority, analytics cookies subject to consent have a maximum lifetime of 13 months, and the data they collect is retained for no more than 25 months. Beyond that, your consent is requested again.
6. Changes to this policy
This cookie policy may be amended to reflect changes to our service or to the applicable regulations. The version and the date of entry into force are shown at the top of the page. Any substantial change is notified to you.
For more information about how we process your data, see our Privacy Policy.
